Bay of Islands is in bottom right hand corner of image. The river in middle of image is Hopkins River and Warrnambool is in the bay to left of the Hopkins River. Logans Beach where Southern Right whales come in to breed (May to September) is located just to right of mouth of Hopkins River. Blue hole is located to left of the Hopkins River mouth. The Warrnambool Harbour is just visible on the headland below Warrnambool. In the upper left hand third of the image is Tower Hill nature reserve. It comprises several crater lakes and is a native animal refuge. Kangeroos, emus and koala are common along with native bird species.A climb to volcanic crater rim affords excellent views along the coast and volcanic plains towards Port Fairy.
